On Monday, March 28, 2006 @ 1:00pm I had an awakening. I felt shame and regret I don’t want you to feel. You and I may not know each other yet, however, if there is one thing I believe, it’s that YOU are great. We all have greatness within us! The catch is that often times we don’t tap into our greatness.
I’m not sure exactly what lulled me to sleep into inaction that I perceived as action. I had brainwashed myself into thinking that I was moving forward. When I awakened, years had passed and precious time had been wasted. The key thing that woke me up was being called who I had become and who I believe I am…..
Some say it’s no good being the best kept secret in the world regarding our greatness. Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘secret’ as –- kept from knowledge or view. I now realize that now is the best time to just do it like Nike. I no longer want to be ‘kept from knowledge or view’ and I’d like you to join me in coming forward and moving forward with our dreams. Will you join me?
Let’s make a pact right now and do this together. Let’s agree that it will be hard…however let’s also agree that it is necessary and it is worth it to live our dreams. Let’s do this together until we succeed. I’ll celebrate your successes and you can celebrate mine. You see it’s not the chord changes or the number of albums sold but rather it’s the great relationships built along the way. It’s growing and learning with YOU and all the wonderful friends I’ve made on this journey that make the struggle, hard work, and successes, all worthwhile.
In a world that seems to spin faster everyday, let’s continue to spread love and happiness wherever we go. I look forward to many more sometimes-hard, sometimes-ugly, always-worthwhile experiences along this musical pathway. Here’s to hoping that you are part of my journey to make the world a better place.
Let’s remove can’t from our vocabulary, replace it with I can and refuse to make excuses. You, my friend, are capable of things beyond beautiful and YOU can live dreams far beyond your imagination.
